O4 Ground Station Overview
The DJI O4 Ground Station is a wide-area transmission system that solves the biggest bottleneck in long-range drone operations: keeping a stable, high-quality link when distance, obstacles or interference get in the way. Built around a 12-antenna array and a high-output RF unit, it pushes control and video signal far beyond a standard setup and holds that connection through dense urban environments, valleys and remote sites. It works two ways — Gateway Mode connects your aircraft directly to DJI FlightHub 2 for remote, cloud-based operations, while Relay Mode extends range offline from an elevated position. With built-in RTK positioning, IP67 durability and a maintenance-free design rated for 24/7 unattended use, the O4 Ground Station is the connectivity backbone for serious enterprise, dock-based and automated drone programs.
Gateway Mode Wide Coverage
Gateway Mode connects the O4 Ground Station directly to DJI FlightHub 2, removing the bottleneck that normally limits dock-based operations. Instead of binding the station to a single dock within line of sight, it links straight to the cloud over Ethernet, PoE or 4G — so you can place it wherever coverage actually matters, not where the dock happens to sit. Paired with DJI Dock 3, a single station can extend operational coverage dramatically, delivering low-latency, high-bandwidth video back to your command centre. Operators can even take manual control through FlightHub 2's Virtual Cockpit anywhere inside the station's range, overriding preset routes on the fly to respond to events as they unfold. Combine multiple docks and ground stations and you can build seamless, grid-wide coverage with no blind spots.
Signal Map for Precise Deployment
After a flight, FlightHub 2 utilises flight data to generate a Signal Map that visually highlights weak coverage zones. This helps operators position ground stations more precisely and reinforce communication links, enhancing overall flight safety.
Direct Network Connectivity
In Gateway Mode, O4 Ground Station connects directly to DJI FlightHub 2 via Ethernet or the DJI Cellular Dongle 2, delivering low-latency, high-bandwidth video feeds. This frees the station from DJI Dock 3's proximity constraints, allowing it to extend coverage up to 30 km.
Relay Mode Offline Reach
O4 Ground Station inherits the functions of the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version. In offline areas such as valleys or urban environments with severe signal obstruction, operators can switch to Relay Mode and position the station at a high point to extend aircraft video transmission range. Remote controllers or DJI Docks within signal range can remotely scan and connect to O4 Ground Station. This enables fast turnarounds, as a single station can service different aircraft sequentially and improve overall hardware utilisation.
